FlightModels Model Sizes: 20cm vs 47cm
The size in the product title is the size that arrives. This page shows every size we sell, in centimetres and inches, so there are no surprises when the box is opened.
Our sizes
| Size | Length | Roughly the size of | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20 cm | 8 in | A sheet of A5 paper, long edge | Desk or shelf; most popular for collections |
| 45–47 cm | 18–19 in | A laptop, long edge, plus a little | Display piece; the one people photograph |
| 50 cm | 20 in | Slightly longer than a 47 cm model | Concorde and other long, slender aircraft |
Length is measured nose to tail. Wingspan varies by aircraft type — a 47 cm A380 is wider than a 47 cm Concorde — and is listed on each product page.
How to choose
- Buying several aircraft? 20 cm models line up neatly on a shelf and are the size most collectors build a set from.
- Buying one statement piece or a gift? 47 cm is the size that gets noticed across a room.
- Not sure? Measure the shelf. A 47 cm model with its stand needs roughly 50 cm of clear width. Our guarantee covers damage, loss and wrong items, not size — so please check before ordering.
What's in the box
Each model ships with its display stand, protected in moulded packaging. The livery is painted onto die-cast metal; landing gear and stand fit as shown on the product page.
